BRIAN & BUTCH CONCEPT FEATURING WOVEN CARBON CONSTRUCTION
Brian Grubb and Scott Bouchard have created some of the most successful surf shapes in the Hyperlite line up. The Phantom is the latest addition to their history of success. The Phantom is a full woven carbon DuraShell construction making it the lightest and most responsive surfer ever created with Hyperlite's exclusive Durashell construction process. DuraShell boards are some of the most durable on the market as well, perfect for a high-end board like the Phantom. Scott Bouchard combined the speed of a sharper rail with the loose, surfy feel of a round rail in the new hybrid rail design. This new rail offers the best of both creating a unique ride. The Phantom can be ridden in different fin configurations, providing surf or skim characteristics.
+ Hybrid Style
Toss some buckets with some smooth, linked turns inspired by your favorite saltwater surfer. Traditional surf shapes have a thicker profile and a mellower rail/bevel allowing a rider to pivot a turn more from their back foot and are best ridden with either a deeper fin or multiple fins. Riders usually apply more pressure on the back half of the board and generate more force through a turn. Still very capable of doing tricks on and off the water – just with a fluid like feel.
+ Woven Carbon Construction
Compression molded process utilizing 3 oz. carbon laminates.
+ Layered Glass
Hyperlite's fiberglass is available in three weights depending on the board. Over time, traditional woven glass fibers will separate. With layered glass every Hyperlite deck will have the same pop off the double up year after year.
+ Single Concave Base
Channels water down the center of the board for a solid and controlled feel.
+ Tail Shape - Pin
Commonly used on skim style shapes the pin tail is super fast down the line and spins easily.
+ EPS Core
Expanded polystyrene foam provides a super lightweight and durable core.
+ Machined EVA Traction - Corduroy
Ultra grade EVA foam machined into subtle ridge shapes with a rough finish increases grip and hold.
+ Hybrid Rail Design
Blending of sharper rails for speed and rounded rails for carving, cruising and feel.
+ Tail Profile - Mid
Traditional surfboard tail shape for quick carving and maneuverability.
+ Lap Construction
Top and bottom fiberglass laminates overlap around at the rail to increase strength reinforcing the board.
+ Thruster Tri Fin
Surfing's most popular setup, tri-fin is ideal for surfers of all ability levels, the third or center fin provides additional stability and maneuverability.
