Last weekend the Active Water Sports retail crew packed up our bags, and hopped on a plane to the water sports capital of the world Orlando, Florida for Surf Expo. While we were down there we checked out all of the new 2017 gear thats arriving in our store daily, as well as do a little shredding. Some of the standouts for products are the new Liquid Force 4D binding system, which gives you the most responsive feel of any of their boots to date. For Ronix they have improved their entire surf line, making their boards thicker and more buoyant giving you even more of a surf style feel on the water. As far as Slingshot goes they have completely redesigned their boot mounting system, going with a smaller baseplate in order to allow the board to flex more. On top of that their boots also now feature a gummy strap closure system; gone are the days of velcro. Check out some of the killer new products below!!!
After a couple "rough days" of "hard work" at the show, we decided to unwind by doing a little riding at Orlando Water Sports Complex and Lake Ronix. Being from Oregon we aren't very comfortable riding at cable parks, so all of us got an opportunity to get our feet wet hitting the rails and kickers at the two parks. By the end of the trip we were all starting to feel fairly comfortable and we're already looking forward to our next opportunity to ride park. We want to give a huge thanks to Liquid Force, and Hyperlite for setting us up with gear and passes to shred OWC, and also want to thank Ronix for their hospitality and letting us use their facilities at lake Ronix. All in all it was the trip of a lifetime, we got to see and ride some awesome new gear, shred to the point where our hands bled, and bump elbows with some of the pros and elite in the water sports industry. Not a bad way to end a great season!
